Jack of all trades this is the inspiration behind our operation. Never leaves your side. I am the main operator of the machines and supplier for our operation. Our production would grind to halt without our round-man who helps with everything from production to fabrication.
That's us!

We started out reloading because we wanted to know more about the hobby and to save money on ammunition. Little did we know that this would end up being more money than just buying our own bullets in bulk. We started out with some really basic tools and made the initial investment of getting a really nice progressive press. This was a big advantage to have and has served us very well. A lot of what we learned originally came from the reloading books and youtube videos. We were lucky enough to also have a friend that has been reloading for years. We really had the best information coming from all avenues this way and it helped immensely. We jumped head first in with a progressive press because they are designed to be extremely fast and accurate but we quickly learned that to really need walk before we run. I mean that we needed to have a single stage press that creates one process at a time with one die. There will be more about this later but we basically didn't know what we were looking for until we slowed the process down and learned by doing it the tedious way first. It didn't take long before we knew what we wanted to watch out for and started pumping them out on the 7 stage progressive press and we really fell in love then.

That's not to say we didn't make mistakes because of course we did. One of the first mistakes I made was so serious I nearly quit. The first scale we purchased was a good but cheap scale that was battery powered and small and it was specifically for reloading and from a reloading equipment company so when I was setting up the first round of bullets for the powder drop I was very careful to get it right. This could be dangerous! I followed the reloading data book to the exact measurements with the highest recommended gun powder money could buy. I followed all the correct procedures and measurements for the exact size projectile I was loading and headed out to the range. Well, I was already having anxiety over shooting my very own rounds for the first time with some loaded with minimum safe amount of powder and some made with gradually more powder within that safe range for this particular powder. 💥 BOOM 💥 .. to my surprise this was very different ammunition with much bigger kick and I thought to myself, This must be the type of powder I used!!. It was a type of powder that had mixed reviews online and some thought it was a little too powerful giving them some overpressure results. I stopped shooting and packed it in because this was not right. I promptly went home and ordered another type of powder that was also highly recommended for the particular bullets I was making. The next day, we were talking to a friend that had a lot of experience with reloading and he said it shouldn't have been that bad. Well, in the end we figured it out because he asked what the scale said when I tested the powder drop setting. It read exactly 4.7g and he said it should be 4.7gr!! 😟 We had learned a powerful lesson because the scale had been set to default of grams not grains. Who knew why a scale made specifically for reloading by a reloading company would do that but they did. 1 gram is equal to 15.43 grains and with gunpowder this is a massive difference causing serious chamber pressure. I will never make that mistake again obviously but I wanted to share this because there was no warning of this in all the documentation I had read and researched before I began. I nearly hung it up right there and then but with this discovery I stopped and waited until our expert friend could come over and show me all the details in person on a single stage press and our confidence soon was back and we were off.

Since that fateful first experience we have been the poster boy for cautious and calculated reloading practices. Just like the Ice-Man in Top Gun, we do everything by the book. This is why we want to share what we've learned over the years with anyone that wants to start or even improve their own reloading hobby. I literally check for the little gr symbol every single time we start a reloading session to this day.
